Shipping and Delivery Tredwood will arrange packing, shipping and insurance. For large furniture items one may expect to pay $300 to $600 and up for packing, shipping and insurance depending on size, distance and method shipped. Smaller furniture items can usually be packed, insured and shipped for less than $175 in the East and Midwest and under $250 beyond those areas to the West Coast. Accessory size items can usually be packed, shipped and insured for under $50. Please remember, Tredwood is responsible for merchandise only while it is in Tredwood's possession. Our shipping charge is basically a pass through. Our customers pay for packing, shipping and insurance charges only. We add nothing and we make nothing on shipping. We also ship outside the United States at an additional cost. We are told by our shipping company to expect 10 to 14 days for pick-up, packing and shipping to occur and another 10 to 14 days for transit and delivery (expect slightly longer times for overseas delivery). Our domestic shipping experience has told us that even for large pieces it takes a little less time than this and for small furniture items and accessory sized items, it usually takes about half this time. Professional Shippers. No Hidden Charges Some antique dealers pack their own items to either make money or show a savings to the customer. We have made a conscious decision NOT to do that. We prefer to let professionals who know the packing and shipping business handle the packing and shipping of our antiques. We use professionals who possess the training, experience and the proper equipment and packing materials to do the job correctly. It makes no sense to us to extend time and effort searching for, restoring and marketing wonderful, beautiful antiques to risk it all in the last, most critical part of the business transaction - packing and shipping. We also insure to full sale value plus the cost of the packing/shipping in case the piece is lost. No matter what happens, our customers are made whole. We have never had any damage or for that matter, a complaint and most importantly, their will never be a challenge to a damage claim if and when one occurs because we improperly packed the antique. Ordering From Tredwood If you have decided upon the item you want and would like to place an order, you may do so by using the Secure Order Form or telephoning us. If you simply want to talk to us, you may reach us by telephone, e-mail or come visit in person (see below for information on how to reach us). We gladly accept Personal Checks, Cashier Checks, Money Orders and PayPal for purchases and we do charge sales tax wherever it is required. Visit Our Antiques in Person Our antiques are displayed at Porta Portese, an upscale gift and antique mall located on historic, restored Ram Cat Alley in Seneca, South Carolina. It's a great store, a charming street and a wonderful way to spend part of your day browsing all the shops and restaurants. We recommend one of Evelyn's homemade soups along with a fresh sandwich at Circa 1930, a lovely cafe inside Porta Portese furnished with vintage and antique pieces. Then browse the store.
